Tom Jenike, MD

As Chief Wellbeing Officer at Novant Health, Dr. Tom Jenike is responsible for developing and implementing system-wide strategies to create a culture of wellness for more than 40,000 team members. His work is grounded in a simple but powerful premise: in order to be world-class at caring for patients, Novant Health must be world-class at caring for its people. This includes addressing organizational barriers, providing comprehensive resources across all facets of wellbeing, and equipping leaders and clinicians with tools to thrive in demanding healthcare careers.

In addition to his executive role, Tom is an executive coach who has designed and facilitated multiple leadership programs focused on personal and team performance, connection to purpose, and the effective integration of one’s life with their life’s work. Under his direction, Novant Health has become nationally recognized as a thought leader in healthcare wellbeing and burnout prevention.

Dr. Jenike is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University.

Tom lives with his wife, Felice, and they share two adult children. He enjoys reading, exercising, and traveling. When he is not engaged in his passion for growing, developing, and coaching leaders, his favorite place to be is on the golf course with his son, Jake, and daughter, Sophie.
